Donna Farthing has served as the Butler County Treasurer since July 2018. Prior to being elected as the Butler County Treasurer she served as the Deputy Treasurer for nine years after having served as a clerk in the Treasurer’s Office for four years.

Mrs. Farthing’s family has ties to Butler County for over one hundred years! Mrs. Farthing’s grandparents were farmers in Butler County, her parents were raised in Butler County, and she herself has been a Butler County resident for over forty years. She and her husband Bill were married in March of 1993 and reside in Butler County with their son Tristan. Some of her special interests include hunting, fishing, and classic cars.

Mrs. Farthing’s educational career includes:
- Associate of Applied Science in Business Office Management from Butler Community College in May 2006
- Property Tax Law course from the Kansas Department of Revenue in July 2008
- Certificate in Effective Supervisory Skills from the Kansas Association of Counties in July 2010
- Leadership Butler in April 2018
- Completion of three of four levels of the Treasurer’s Certification Program from the Kansas Association of Counties

Mrs. Farthing is honored to serve as Butler County’s Treasurer and says:
"My role as Butler County Treasurer is to serve the people of Butler County by ensuring the primary functions of the Treasurer's Office - tax collection, disbursement to taxing entities and Motor Vehicle department services are carried out accurately, courteously and efficiently. I am proud to serve in the capacity of Treasurer and continue to look for opportunities to improve services to the people of Butler County."
