    Beginning Monday, March 23rd, all Butler County Facilities will be restricted from Public Access. Buildings will remain open only to County employees, mail deliveries, and available essential business for individuals by appointment only through Sunday, April 19th, to mirror the dates of the Kansas Governor’s Executive “Stay at Home” Order number 20-16. As this crisis continues to evolve, the County Commission will review restriction requirements weekly. The purpose of these closures is to minimize our employees’ exposure to the public in order that, should the crisis pandemic reach Butler County, our mission-critical employees have the best opportunity to remain healthy and deliver those essential services provided by Butler County. The Butler County Landfill will remain open, as the operations of the landfill are an essential function of Butler County and public health.   3. Mom 2 Mom Postpartum Support Group

    Mom 2 Mom Postpartum Support is a support group for mothers who are experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Facilitated by Jessica Stumpe, LP, this group for new moms will: support each other, learn about the "baby blues" and emotional changes that can take place after having a baby, share raw and real experiences in a safe and non-judgemental place, practice self-care and relaxation techniques, find hope and encouragement on your motherhood journey.     Butler County EMS will be hosting another Stepping On workshop at the El Dorado Senior Center beginning March 11 @ 09:00 till 11:00. We will meet every Wednesday for 2 hours until April 29th. If you are over the age of 60, have a fear of falling or have fallen recently, not dependent on a wheel chair and live independently you might be interested in this program. Workshops are limited to 14 participants so do not hesitate to register at the El Dorado Senior Center (316-321-0142) or contact Stuart at 316-322-4262 or sfunk@bucoks.com.

  9. Child Care Orientation

    April 10, 2020, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Health / Extension Offices

    Child care licensing is required to protect the health, safety, and welfare of children receiving care away from their parents and their home. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment contracts with the Butler County Health Department to provide local regulatory services for: Child Care Centers, Group Day Care Homes, Head Start Centers, Licensed Day Care Homes, Preschools, School-Age Programs. For those interested in opening a child care facility the first step is to attend an orientation class. Home-based orientation classes are held on a monthly basis on the 2nd Friday and the 3rd Saturday of each month. Pre-registration is not required and there is no fee for the class. The classes begin at 9:00 AM and are being held at the Butler County Health Department at 206 N. Griffith in El Dorado.

    Each county in Kansas is expected to have a Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), comprised of emergency response agencies, hospitals, industries, and community groups.
