  3. Storm Fury on the Plains 2019

    With our spring storm season rapidly approaching, are you looking for an opportunity to learn more about how storms develop and what to do if you come face-to-face with hazardous weather? Would you like to be able to tell at a glance if a storm is headed your way, if it's strong or weak, or if it has the potential to produce threats like large hail or tornadoes? If so, plan to join us for an evening of sever weather education! This program is open to the public and offered free of charge. No pre-registration is required. If you are interested in learning more about how severe weather works and how to keep yourself and your family safe when storms are threatening, join us for a fun and informative evening!

  6. Butler County Prepares

    March 23, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Augusta High School Gymnasium (2020 Ohio Street, Augusta, KS 67010) 4H Building (206 N Griffith St, El Dorado, KS 67042)

    Are you interested in learning more about how to save a life with CPR and AED usage? Butler County CERT, a volunteer group affiliated with Emergency Management, in corporation with Butler County EMS, will be offering a free Adult CPR and AED presentation to help you do just that! On Saturday morning, March 23rd, these presentations will be conducted at two separate locations in the county, with two different time slots to choose from. Pre-registration is required, so visit the online form to save your spot at either the Augusta High School or the 4-H/Community Building (El Dorado). Follow this link and look for the registration form under the Emergency Management section: https://www.bucoks.com/FormCenter This is an awareness-level class, so will not provide you with a completion card. However, hopefully it will make you more comfortable with the idea of using CPR or applying an AED to save a life!
