Is help being sent while I am answering all the questions being asked by 9-1-1?
Yes, Butler County Emergency Communications uses a sophisticated Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system that automatically routes calls to the proper dispatcher as soon as the minimum amount of information is obtained. CAD also notifies responders of the nature and location of emergency calls directly, without dispatcher intervention in some circumstances.
In many cases, you may be asked to stay on the line until help arrives on the scene. This enables the dispatchers to keep the responders updated in real time and provide you with critical instructions that may improve the situation and/or ensure the safety of those on scene.
