Commissioner Kelly Herzet represents District 3, which includes the northwest part of Butler County. Communities located within Commissioner Herzet’s district include Towanda, Whitewater, Elbing, Brainerd, Potwin, the west half of El Dorado, and their surrounding areas.
Commissioner Herzet was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in November 2020 for a four year term expiring January 2025. Commissioner Herzet retired from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office in December 2020 after thirty-three years of service with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Commissioner Herzet graduated from Leadership Butler in 2014 and has been very active with Flinthills Services Inc., having served as president of Flinthills Services Inc. Commissioner Herzet has also served with CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) as president.
Commissioner Herzet has two grown children and three grandsons.
