Do You Qualify For A Pro-rated Watercraft or Other Tangible Personal Property Value
In accordance with K.S.A. 79-306e & K.S.A. 79-345; the owner of record must provide the County Appraiser with documentation (bill-of-sale) of an acquisition or sale on or before December 20th of the same year.
The following personal property qualifies for proration accordance to 79-306e & K.S.A. 79-345. Watercraft, All Terrain, Recreational Off-Road & Utility Terrain Vehicles, Golf Carts, & Trailers.
State law K.S.A. 79-304 requires all tangible property to be listed with the County Appraiser on or before March 15th of each year to avoid filing penalties.
If the Appraiser’s Office discovered and placed your tangible personal property on the tax roll a filing penalty will also be assessed. If the watercraft & other Tangible Personal Property was acquired after January 1st the owner of record must provide a bill-of-sale that shows the purchase date to justify the removal of the filing penalty.
