Limited closure on Adams Road for turn lane work on K-254
Work is expected to begin around Tuesday, May 31, to add a turn lane from westbound K-254 to northbound Adams Road, in Butler County. The project also involves a limited closure of Adams Road.
During the work, traffic will be restricted to a single lane on westbound K-254, and motorists will be directed to slow down for the work zone. Adams Road will be closed on the north side during the work, and motorists should seek another route. Adams Road will be closed only from K-254 north to the entrance to the frontage roads going east and west from Adams Road. Motorists coming south on Adams Road will be able to access K-254 by the frontage roads.
The Kansas Department of Transportation project, involving grading and surfacing, is expected to be completed around the first of August.
Pearson Construction, of Wichita, is the primary contractor for the $293,382 project.
The maps below show the length of the closure on Adams Road and the approximate project location, marked in red.
