As of March 29, 2021, the state of Kansas has moved into Phase 5 for COVID-19 vaccinations. All appointments on the Butler County COVID-19 Vaccine website ( https://coronavirus-vaccine-outreach-bucogis.hub.arcgis.com/) are available to anyone over the age of eighteen (18).
The state of Kansas is vaccinating individuals over the age of sixteen (16.) However, the only COVID-19 vaccine currently approved for sixteen (16) to seventeen (17) year olds in the U.S. is the Pfizer vaccine. The Butler County Health Department is administering the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines, both of which have only been approved for individuals aged eighteen (18) and over. Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) who come to the Butler County Health Department for COVID-19 vaccinations will be turned away. Please contact your local pharmacy to investigate whether they are administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and able to vaccinate your sixteen (16) or seventeen (17) year old.
