Butler County has multiple transportation options available to residents, businesses, and travelers.
Interstate 35 is an important roadway as it is the only highway in the Midwest that connects Canada, the United States and Mexico. In addition to Interstate 35, Highway 77, which runs north / south, and Highways 54 and 254, which run east / west, provide access to Wichita and surrounding communities. Highway 177 runs diagonal from El Dorado to Northeastern Butler County, helping keep families and communities connected.
There are also three airports in Butler County that primarily serve personal and business aircraft: El Dorado, Augusta, and Benton. Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, the largest airport in Kansas, is located conveniently in Wichita, allowing for easy access to anywhere in the country.
