D.A.R.E. Program

About the Program

Our day-to-day operations to combat the problems our youth face with alcohol, drugs, bullying, and stress is a never ending battle. Our youth need to be educated at an early age in an attempt to head off future problems they may face. With a great response from the community and the support of our school systems, the program was reinstated in 2012.

Since the reinstatement of the D.A.R.E. Program, Deputy Dana Burns has been working to teach the new D.A.R.E. "Keepin' it REAL" curriculum to our youth at Circle, Flinthills, El Dorado, Remington and Rose Hill. Since 2012, they have taught the D.A.R.E. Program and the importance of making good choices in life to approximately 800 youth each school year.

Several county businesses and civic organizations have joined arms with Butler County Sheriff's Office in an effort to combat alcohol and drug abuse. Through the monetary support of several businesses and sponsors, our youth have been learning how to avoid alcohol and drug abuse and to make good decisions in life through the D.A.R.E. Program.
