Immunizations & TB Skin Tests

The Butler County Health Department is focused on providing immunizations for infants, children, and adults to help ensure their health and the overall health of our community. During certain times of the year, seasonal flu shots are also available.

Immunizations are administered on a by appointment basis on the designated days and times. Please bring your immunizations record with you. You should keep your shot record just as you would any other important document.

TB Skin Test

TB skin tests are provided on Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment. Patients will need to return two days after receiving a TB skin test to have their results read.

Vaccinations for Children
The Health Department provides VFC vaccines only for children. This means that we can only provide immunizations to children who qualify to receive these vaccines.

The basic guidelines to qualify are:

  • If your child is under the age of 18.
  • Has a Medicaid card (Kancare Insurance)
  • If you child is uninsured
  • If your child is underinsured (call for details 316-321-3400)
  • If your child is American Indian or Alaska Native

Children covered by commercial insurance are able to receive Private Vaccines at Butler County Health Department. Children whose health insurance covers the cost of vaccinations are not eligible for VFC vaccines, even when a claim for the cost of the vaccine and its administration would be denied for payment by the insurance carrier because the plans deductible had not been met.

Private Vaccinations now available

The Health Department now has private pay immunizations for children covered by insurance but whose primary health care provider does not administer vaccines. Please contact us to schedule an appointment.

We also provide adult vaccines. Please check with your insurance to make sure it will cover these vaccines. Medicare B will only pay for the Influenza and Pneumonia vaccines.
