In cooperation with our stakeholder agencies and organizations, the Butler County Emergency Operations Plan has recently undergone its latest review and update. The new plan has been approved by the Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM) and was formally promulgated at the November 21, 2023, meeting of the Butler County Board of County Commissioners. In its approval notice, the State of Kansas affirmed that this EOP complies with the Kansas Planning Standards and also meets all requirements for compliance with SARA Title III, ADA, and NIMS.

Below is the "Basic Plan" portion of the Butler County Emergency Operations Plan, which is in effect until December 31, 2025.  This expiration will arrive sooner than usual (typically EOPs are good for five years) since the state is syncing up all of our regions' plans -- their goal is to establish a cycle in which all 19 counties in the South Central region expire in the same year.

If you have any questions about the Plan or the planning process, please contact Emergency Management at (316) 733-9796.
