C. N. James Log Cabin

1868 General Store. First Building in Augusta. Built just after the Civil War of hand-hewn cottonwood logs -- some 14 inches in diameter -- hauled from the nearby Walnut River. Listed on the national Register of Historical Places, it is one of only two pioneer houses in the state of Kansas still on its original site.

PlayPark Pointe, Garvin Park and other Augusta Parks
PlayPark Pointe on North Ohio Street near Augusta City Lake is a magical community built playground with castles, swings, and slides. It is a wonderful place for youngsters and their families.
