By Mail Advance Voting |
Advance voting by mail begins 20 days prior to every election. To vote by mail, complete an Application for an Advance Voting Ballot or an Application for Permanent Advance Voting Status and fax to (316) 322-4261 or mail to Butler County Election Office 205 W. Central, Suite 205, El Dorado, KS 67042. A separate application must be submitted for each election. Applications are also available at the Election Office, city halls, and public libraries. Completed application must be received at the Election Office before 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election. Your voted ballot may be returned by mail or hand-delivered to the Election Office. If after hours, a drop box is available at the front entrance. Ballots may not be faxed. To be counted, the ballot must be received at the Election Office before 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. |

State law does not permit anyone to interfere with or delay the delivery of any advance voting ballot applications to the County Election Office. Applications must be faxed or mailed directly to the County Election Office. If you are collecting advance voting ballot applications, State law requires that the applications be transmitted ONLY to the County Election office within two days after the voter has signed the application for a ballot. If you are providing envelopes for voters to return advance voting ballot applications, the return address should be provided as follows: Butler County Election Office, 205 W. Central, Suite 205, El Dorado, KS 67042. Routing these applications to any address other than the County Election Office is a violation of State law.
