County Clerk's Office

Ron Roberts, Butler County Clerk

The County Clerk's Office is the focal point of the County Courthouse. This office will take requests for services and/or point citizens in the right direction to obtain the services needed.

 

Services and functions provided by the County Clerk's office are:

  • Works closely with the County Commission
  • Record minutes of the Board of County Commissioners Meetings
  • Assist townships in annual budget preparations
  • Maintain tax rolls and real estate tax statement information
  • Add and Abate maintenance of records to tax rolls
  • Maintain transfer records
  • Set and certify the mill levy for all county tax districts
  • Maintain tax statement mailing lists
  • Administer oaths of public office
  • Election records and proceedings (including candidate filings, voter registration, ballot printing and preparation, election workers hiring and training, and ballot tabulations. See theElection Office page for more information.
  • Work closely with the County Appraiser's and County Treasurer's offices.
  • Issue moving licenses
  • Issue Cereal Malt beverage licenses
  • Issue fishing and hunting licenses/permits
  • Assist citizens with homestead and tax forms
  • Maintain land records from the 1800's to present
  • Maintain vital statistic records from 1800's to 1911
