BUTLER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Butler County Board of Commissioners was called to order by Commission Chairman, Bill Shriver.  Present were Commissioner Will Carpenter, County Administrator, Jay Newton and Clerk’s Secretary, Tindel Jennison.  Commissioner Randy Doll was absent from the meeting.

 

TRUCK SERVICE BODY BID

Commissioner Shriver moved to approve the low bid for a truck service body from Midwest Kansas Trucking in the amount of $14,367.00.  Commissioner Carpenter seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

 

KDHE GRANT – ILLEGAL DUMP CLEAN-UP

Commissioner Shriver moved to accept the contract between the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Butler County for a grant to clean-up illegal dump sites located at East Garden Mobile Home Park and a site located ¾ mile south of Highway 254 on Butler County and authorize the Chairman to sign the contract.  Commissioner Carpenter seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

Commissioner Shriver moved to approve a contract between the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Butler County for a grant to clean-up an illegal dump site located at NE ¼, Sec. 16, T23S, R7E, near Cassoday and authorize the Chair to sign.  Commissioner Carpenter seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

 

QUIT CLAIM DEEDS

Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve Kansas Statutory Quit Claim Deeds from Butler County and the Butler County Public Building Commission for:

(a)    The site of the new county jail (SE 10th and Stone Road)

(b) The North 32 feet of lot 2 and lot 3, Block 7, City of El Dorado (Wiebe Tire Property)

(c)    Lots 1 and 2 of Block 7, City of El Dorado (Pratt property)

Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

 

PAUL’S VALLEY 3RD FINANCIAL SERVICES

Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve the Financial Services Proposal from JO Davidson & Associates related to proposed benefit district street improvements in Paul’s Valley Third Addition.  Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

 

AUGUSTA PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY – CHG. ORDER #3

Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve final change order #3 for the Butler County / Augusta Public Safety Facility in the amount of $179 (City of Augusta will pay $2,822) and authorize the Chair to sign.  Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

 

KS. DEPT. OF EMER. MGMT. TRAINING GRANT

Commissioner Carpenter moved to accept a grant from the Kansas Division of Emergency Management to provide Tactical Emergency Medical Support Training for employees of the EMS and Sheriff Departments with the only stipulation being that the individuals receive a physical examination prior to departure.  Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.
