BUTLER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Butler County Board of Commissioners was called to order by Commission Chairman, Bill Shriver. Present were Commissioner Will Carpenter, County Administrator, Jay Newton and Clerk’s Secretary, Tindel Jennison. Commissioner Randy Doll was absent due to illness.
COUNTY VOUCHER
APPROVAL
Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve County Vouchers totaling $342,495.71. Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.
ADS & ABATES
APPROVAL
Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve Ads totaling $620.48 and Abates totaling $9,303.80 per approval number 2031. Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.
DETECTIVE DEPT.
REVIEW
Craig Murphy reviewed the Detective Department activities with the Board. The department currently has four detectives and one secretary. Mr. Murphy stated that with current caseload 8 detectives are needed. Investigations on many cases, such as thefts, are postponed due to case load and time is devoted to much more severe and higher priority cases, such as rape and homicide.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioner Shriver moved to go into Executive Session to discuss the acquisition of property and personnel matters for 15 minutes. Commissioner Carpenter seconded the motion that carried 2-0.
REGULAR SESSION
Commissioner Shriver brought the meeting back into Regular Session at 11:00 AM.
WIEBE TIRE REAL
ESTATE CONTRACT
Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve the Real Estate Contract between Wiebe Tire and Butler County in an amount not to exceed $47,000. Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.

INVENTORY & ASSETS
Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve an agreement in an amount not to exceed $53,000 regarding inventory and assets between Kristie L. Cox, owner of Wiebe Tire and Butler County. Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.
HEALTH DEPT.
REVIEW
Health Department Director, Carol Borger reviewed the Health Department functions, programs and grants with the Board. Sue Harsh visited with the Board regarding Health Education.

Commissioner Carpenter moved to adjourn. Commissioner Shriver seconded the motion that carried 2-0.
