BUTLER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Butler County Board of Commissioners was called to order by Commission Chair, Randy Doll.  Present were Commissioners Neal Parrish and Linsey Cutsinger along with County Administrator, Jay Newton and Clerk’s Secretary, Tindel Jennison.

 

APPROVAL OF VOUCHERS

Commissioner Doll moved to approve County Vouchers totaling $194,265.39.  Commissioner Cutsinger seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

APPROVAL OF CMB LICENSES

Commissioner Parrish moved to approve Cereal Malt Beverage Licenses for the following:  B & J Kwiktote, Retreat Truck Stop, C.L. dba Sankey Rodeo, Keighley Barn, Cook’s Tavern, Big John’s, Big John’s and Frank Kistler dba Kistler Service.  Commissioner Cutsinger seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

SPRING TOWNSHIP CLERK

Tammy Berndsten, Spring Township Treasurer visited with the Board regarding personal concerns with Spring Township Clerk, Arthur Jenkinson.  The Commission advised that any concerns be submitted in writing and those concerns will be passed on to the County Counselor for review and response.

 

DEPT. ON AGING BD. APPT.

Commissioner Cutsinger moved to appoint Elwood King to the Department on Aging Board for a 3-year term effective January 2, 2001.  Commissioner Parrish seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

GIS FUNDING

Commissioner Doll moved to transfer $15,000 from the Appraisal budget to the GIS Mapping line item to cover a portion of digital ortho photography costs.  Commissioner Cutsinger seconded the motion that carried 3-0.  Commissioner Cutsinger seconded the motion that carried.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Parrish moved to approve the Minutes of Monday, December 18, Tuesday, December 19 and Tuesday, December 26, 2000 as amended.  Commissioner Cutsinger seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

COUNTY ADMIN. SALARY

Commissioner Doll moved to approve a 3% Cost of Living increase for the County Administrator along with all other non-elected County Employees effective January 1, 2001.  Commissioner Parrish seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

AGREEMENTS WITH TREANOR ARCHITECTURAL FIRM

Commissioner Doll moved to approve the Treanor Architectural firm study of the historical Court House and Judicial Building currently in use at a cost of $4,000 reduction from $22,000.00, due to the nature of work already being performed.

 

Carter Goble Study

Commissioner Doll moved to approve the Carter Goble Agreement with Treanor Architectural firm to perform Transition and Planning Services for the new jail facility.  Cost of $74,630 as a fixed price fee plus approximately $22,000 reimbursable expenses to be paid out of interest earnings from the project (bonds) to be included as a line item on the project.  Commissioner Parrish seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Commissioner Cutsinger moved to go into Executive Session until 11:15 AM to discuss acquisition of property.  Commissioner Doll seconded the motion that carried 3-0.

 

REGULAR SESSION

Commissioner Doll brought the meeting back into Regular Session at 11:15 AM.

 

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Doll moved to adjourn.  Commissioner Cutsinger seconded the motion that carried 3-0.
