BUTLER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

CALL TO ORDER 

Commission Chairman Dan Woydziak called the Butler County Board of Commissioners to order at 9:00 a.m.  Present were Commissioner Will Carpenter, Commissioner Randy Doll, Commissioner Randy Waldorf, Commissioner Mike Wheeler, Administrator Will Johnson, Jr., and Clerk Recorder Tammy Bridges.   

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Waldorf motioned to approve the minutes of the Butler County Commission Meetings of Monday, July 17, 2006 and Tuesday, July 18, 2006 as written.  Commissioner Doll seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0.  

 

ITEM #1 – WORK SESSION – COUNTY FINANCIAL REPORT

Mark Detter, Assistant Administrator/Finance Director, came before the Board to present the 2005/2006 County Financial Report as of June 2006.

 

ITEM #2 – EXECUTIVE SESSION - PERSONNEL

Commissioner Wheeler motioned to recess the Board to Executive Session at 9:25 a.m. for 20 minutes, with the public session resuming at 9:45 a.m., to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel to protect the privacy of the individuals involved.  Commissioner Carpenter seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0.  Those in attendance were Commissioners Carpenter, Doll, Waldorf, Wheeler, Woydziak, Administrator Johnson, and Sheriff Craig Murphy.

 

APPROVAL OF VOUCHERS

Commissioner Carpenter motioned to approve the vouchers dated July 24, 2006 in the amount of $254,447.18.  Commissioner Wheeler seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

APPROVAL OF ADDS AND ABATES

Commissioner Carpenter motioned to approve Adds & Abates #2269 dated July 24, 2006.  Adds in the amount of $547.46 and Abates in the amount of $3,627.02.  Commissioner Waldorf seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

OTHER ITEMS OF BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Administrator Johnson stated that the Augusta City Council has approved the Augusta Interlocal Agreement and will be an Agenda item next week.

 

Commissioner Carpenter stated that Prairie Port is this weekend in El Dorado.

 

ITEM #3 – BID OPENING 10:00 A.M. – COURTHOUSE RESTORATION

One bid was received from McCollom Construction in the amount of $555,483 with a bid for Alternative 1 in the amount of $20,000 to repair the tile at the top of the steps in front of the courthouse, and a completion date of December 15, 2006.  A bid bond was included.

 

Commissioner Waldorf motioned to accept the bid and have staff review and return with a recommendation.  Commissioner Doll seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Wheeler motioned to adjourn the meeting of the Board at 10:12 a.m.  Commissioner Waldorf seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0.
