D.A.R.E. Program

About the Program

Our day-to-day operations to combat the problems our youth face with alcohol and drugs is a never ending battle. Our youth need to be educated at an early age in an attempt to head off future problems they may face with alcohol and drugs. With a great response from the community and the support of our school systems, Sheriff Herzet has reinstated the Butler County Sheriff's Office D.A.R.E. program.

Sheriff Herzet has assigned Deputy Curtis Cox as the new Butler County D.A.R.E. Officer. Deputy Curtis Cox will be attending D.A.R.E. Officer Training this summer to learn the new "Keepin' it REAL" curriculum. This fall, Deputy Curtis Cox and Sergeant Phil Wickwire, our current D.A.R.E. Officer, will work together to teach the new D.A.R.E. curriculum to the youth in our schools.

Several county businesses and civic organizations have joined arms with Butler County Sheriff's Office in an effort to combat alcohol and drug abuse. Through your added monetary support, our youth will learn how to avoid alcohol and drug abuse and to make good decisions in life.
