Spring Fling

The 2017 SPRING FLING Senior Resource Fair was held Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in El Dorado, Kansas, at three locations: Civic Center (201 E. Central), Community Building (206 N. Griffith), and El Dorado Senior Center (210 E. Second). Despite a rainy beginning, we had a wonderful turnout.  There were a great variety of booths for participants to visit, and every participant received a free Spring Fling T-shirt.  If you would like to learn more about Spring Fling, please contact the Butler County Department on Aging at 316-775-0500 or 1-800-279-365.  You can also email us at DeptonAging@bucoks.com.
round logo.jpg SPRING FLING is the largest event in Butler County focused on seniors and their caregivers. For 2017, the beach theme proved to be very popular this year. Our motto was "Seas The Day." Spring Fling is always a great way to have fun while learning about the services, trends, and opportunities for today's older adults and caregivers.

OVERVIEW OF SPRING FLING: The fair attracts approximately 700 - 800 visitors each year with over 120 booths to visit. Information, door prizes and giveaways are at every booth.

Free Health Screenings were held at the Community Building. Document shredding was offered at the El Dorado Senior Center by Flinthills Services.  A 40" TV was given away at each of the three locations. A free photo booth wass at the Civic Center.  Monterey lunches were available at the Civic Center and Community Building.  At a cost of $7, lunches included a Monterey, drink and dessert. As you can see, there was a lot to see and do!

A free shuttle helped visitors park at any of the locations and ride the shuttle to the other locations. Free golf cart rides helped people get from their cars to the Civic Center or Community Building.
